We are delighted to be making our Royal Debut at this event, which is held twice a year, Spring and Autumn, in the lovely environment of one of North San Diego County's prettiest parks.  We'll be portraying Queen Elizabeth I and several of Her favorite Courtiers and Household on holiday from the overcrowded confines of Her London palace.

You may find the Queen in Her royal encampment, visiting with the local citizenry, shopping in the Market Faire, practicing Her archery skills, or presiding over the Battle Pageant.  She is always delighted to meet her loving people, so don't be shy about asking if you may be introduced!

Be sure to inquire at the Royal Court about The Quest!

Young persons wishing to be Knighted should go to the Royal Court and ask any of the members of Her Majesty's entourage about The Quest.  Each will be given a scroll of instructions, which is a sort of scavenger hunt for information and tokens.  Upon successful completion of their Quest, each should return to the Court, prove what they have achieved, and they will then be presented to the Queen to be Knighted!

Returning for our third year as the Royal Court of Elizabeth I, we have the pleasure of working with hundreds of dedicated performers and volunteers for this event.  The Big Bear Valley Renaissance Society is a 501(c)3 organization committed to producing living-history events for both educational and fund-raising purposes.  Profits from the faire are used to provide scholarships for deserving students and to assist teachers in acquiring the tools they need, among other things.  The Guild of Saint Olaf is proud to partner with the BBVRSI.

Her Majesty has fled the noisome squalor of London for the fresh mountain air, and has brought several trusted Courtiers and servants with Her on a hunting party.  She is visiting the local village, where a Jousting Tournament and Market Faire have attracted entertainers, merchants, and citizens from near and far.  She is always pleased to spend time with her loving subjects, and enjoys a good wager on the Joust, so come and join us for the festival!

We bring The Quest to Big Bear, too!
