To contact the Guild Mistress, Assistant Guild Master, or Web Mistress, e-mail

All three of us have access to that account, so someone should be able to respond fairly quickly.  If we are at an event, there may be some delay until we get back to our electronics.  If you are at an event where we are, feel free to come and chat with us!

Inquiries can include any of the following:
  • Availability for performances, including weekend festivals, school events, weddings, and other events.
  • Contract details.
  • Publicity and marketing permissions.
  • Guild membership, responsibilities, and privileges.
  • Questions, suggestions, or content submissions for the website.

Our Guild Mistress

Susan Abernethy has been with the Guild of Saint Olaf since before its official inception in 1994.  She took on the running of the Guild when Ole Olausson and Victoria Dietrich, the original founders, retired a few years back.

She is our Administrative Wizard, handling all aspects of contracting, list-keeping, marketing, publications, Quest coordination...  the list goes on!  When at events, she is a force to be reckoned with, ensuring that all goes as it should, both onstage and backstage.

Contrariwise, she is also our Tech Luddite...  She is excellent with e-mail, and that really is the best way to reach her.  But don't look for her on Twitter, Facebook, or any other social media!  With a demanding job, a musical group, theatrical and living history events, and two sons heading for Eagle rank in the Boy Scouts, she simply doesn't have the time!

To contact Susan specifically, please put "Susan" into the subject line of your e-mail.
Our Assistant Guild Master

Paul Young is fairly new to the Guild, but he has already proven himself invaluable when it comes to logistics, planning, and execution "on the ground."  With a background that includes renaissance and living history events, service in the U.S. Army, and Planning/Supply Chain and Inventory management, he is ideally suited to the challenges we face both while preparing for events and implementing/improvising on-site.

He also has an excellent sense of humor, (some might say wicked,) and a well-developed historical character with a lot of fodder for fantastic on-stage interaction.

Paul is a man of action, and can be counted on to jump in as needed, or to delegate; "Get it done" fairly well sums up his ethic, and we need that!

To contact Paul specifically, please put "Paul" into the subject line of your e-mail.

Our Web Mistress

Tara Pool found herself in the Guild at its inception when she came home from a rehearsal for a special event the Guild was hosting, opened up the information packet she'd been given, and discovered her name on the Guild phone list!  Since then, she's played any number of characters, from the purely fictitious to the wholly historical, and from guardsman (yes, man!) to Queen.

She has a background in Administrative Services, is a semi-professional costumer, a musical director, a stitcher for a custom millinery house, a rampant cook, and a very amateur web design type person...  She is the one with the time to do this, though, so she has the job!

Tara and Susan generally share the responsibility of the monarchy in the Guild; Susan plays Mary, Queen of Scots, and Tara plays Elizabeth I.  Tara is generally deeply involved in the preparation phases for any event, but once on-stage, she is in character, and off-limits for "Guild business."

To contact Tara specifically, please put "Tara" into the subject line of your e-mail.
